Popcorn Days 2009!

On the way to North Loup, Nebraska, we went through a town called Ravenna. There was this bridge that went over the train tracks and since we needed a good leg stretch Grandma and Elizabeth climbed up just as a train was going under.

For each step that they climbed down, my blood pressure decreased.

A new train ride. Elizabeth loved it.

The other highlight of the rides this year was the big-girl ride that Elizabeth rode, but she had to ride with Mommy so no pictures. Those that are familiar with Elitches, the ride called Thing-A-Ma-Jig was called the Sizzler here. She called it the rocket ship ride and I have to agree with her.

Here is her winning turtle. Each year, they host a turtle race. You pick a turtle, register it and then you wait for your turtle to be called. They are placed in the middle of a big circle and the winning turtles are the first one to crawl out of the circle. Elizabeth's turtle won 2nd place.

The Popcorn Day's parade this year was themed 'Famous Couples'

Elizabeth was the princess from the story "The Frog Prince"

We had fun curling her hair and putting on make-up, jewelry and her princess dress.
