Yep - That's a rash

Ever have the feeling that you are completely lost for words?

That was my feeling on Monday. The morning started as any morning would, except this time when I was changing Elizabeth out of her pajamas, I found this rash.

After going to the doctor's office, we still did not know what it was. The doctor gave it a name, something that lasted over 8 syllables, but ended in "multi-forma." The doctor explained that the name, while intimidating, simply meant red spots in mutiple forms (not just full circles).

The diagnosis - None. She simply said that kids get rashes when they are sick. Elizabeth had been suffering from a cold for weeks (no cold medicines for kids under 2!) and so this rash was simply a way for her body to tell me that she was sick. Like her running nose and cough wasn't doing the trick.

The doctor did test her for strep thoat, but after a negative result on that, she simply suggested laying off the Tylenol that I was giving her for her teething pain until she felt better. Sometimes medicines can create a rash when the body's is busy fighting off other stuff (hmmm.. who knew)

After a couple of days the rash did clear up, and Elizabeth is finally getting over her cold.
